As owner of Need A Hand, a residential cleaning and home services company, Melissa found the most fulfillment in hosting events and providing catering and private chef services for her clients. Increasingly, she received requests from clients and friends with special dietary needs and preferences for Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Raw, Gerson, Vegan and Vegetarian baked goods and meals. In recognizing the need in the community for caterers and private chefs specializing in providing meals for those with restricted diets, The Alternative Chef was born.
