Steven Yarows, MD

As a family medicine physician, Dr. Alford focuses on preventive medicine to assist his patients in reaching their optimal level of health. He truly enjoys providing care to every member of the family, from young children to older adults. His areas of interest include office surgical procedures, prevention, and reversal of disease through lifestyle changes, and those times when he has a few moments to catch up on important things in his patients’ lives outside of their health care needs. Dr. Alford joined IHA after spending four years practicing medicine on active duty with the United States Army, including overseas combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He grew up in Chelsea and returned home to the area to establish his practice. Dr. Alford is co-medical director at Trinity Health IHA Medical Group, Primary Care - Chelsea. He has maintained board certification in Family Medicine with the ABFM since 2001 and is a member of AAFP.

We honor the unique needs of women’s health care. We specialize in prenatal and childbirth services, while also providing the entire spectrum of well-woman gynecological care in a warm and welcoming setting. With a focus on wellness education, our midwives are committed to enhancing a woman’s self-reliance and trust in her normal life process. We share on-call shifts and care for our patients as a team. We practice comprehensive, evidence-based health care. Nurse-midwives are registered nurses who have graduated from a nurse-midwifery program accredited by the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) and have passed a national certification examination to receive the professional designation of a certified nurse-midwife. Our sensitive and professional approach to gynecologic primary care includes annual assessments, evaluations and consultations with specialists as needed. Our practice, following the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) guidelines, supports vaccination for all women who are pregnant, lactating or trying to conceive.

Susanna Lin, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician. Dr. Lin enjoys working with children of all ages and partnering with parents to help shape their future. She has special interests in asthma, allergies and preventive medicine. She is the medical director at Trinity Health IHA Medical Group, Pediatrics - Chelsea.
