About Bauer Church Bauer Christian Reformed Church, located right between the triangle of Allendale, Jenison and Hudsonville communities, is a church of about 370 members. Bauer CRC was organized in June of 1902. The original building was erected in 1910 and enlarged in 1948 and 1956. A brand new facility was built in June 2002 to better serve our growing congregation in one of the fastest growing communities in the state of Michigan. The church is a wonderful blend of old and new. While the congregation is growing it still maintains a family atmosphere and provides a wonderful place for strangers to become friends and friends to become family in Jesus Christ. Our worship services blend a variety of musical styles, both traditional and contemporary, and our teaching seeks to apply the timeless truths of God's Word with real time issues of modern living. Our congregation too is a mixture of people from all ages of life. In the fast-paced life of our modern culture, Bauer is a wonderful place to call your spiritual home. Rev. Tim Holwerda is the Senior Pastor of Bauer Christian Reformed Church. Born in Michigan and raised in Indiana and for three years in Nigeria, Rev. Holwerda received his Master of Divinity from Calvin Theological Seminary. Prior to his arrival at Bauer, he served in two capacities as a missionary to the Philippines, 9 years as a church planter among an un-reached people, and 5 years as the field director for Christian Reformed World Missions, Philippines. His theme verse is Ezra 7: 10. He and his wife, Tammy, have 4 children: Emily, Ryan, Lauren and Rachele. Pete is the Director of Congregational Care at Bauer. Pete has participated in a part-time staff position at Bauer since 1997, first as Youth Director and now as Director of Congregational Care. Pete and Sharon have 4 children and 13 grandchildren. We are a body of believers committed to knowing, glorifying and serving God. We do this through worship, fellowship and member care, education and outreach. This enables us to become disciples of Jesus Christ, to be joined in the community of His Church and to be trained to love and serve others. We have four core values that guide us. These values describe the culture we desire to create at Bauer:
