The Public Works Department is operated by the City of Marquette in Michigan, which offers a range of municipal and administrative services. The Public Works Department supports, maintains and preserves municipal infrastructure and facilities. The department administers street, water, park and sewer maintenance divisions. Its street maintenance division is responsible for maintaining more than 60 miles of sidewalks. The department s water maintenance division has a distribution network of over 95 miles. Its park maintenance division prepares, grooms and maintains soccer fields, tennis courts, swimming beaches and playgrounds. The department s sewer maintenance division repairs nearly 85 miles of sanitary sewer mains. It additionally maintains a motor pool division that operates a fuel depot. The Public Works Department serves the Marquette Housing Commission and Marquette Area Public Schools.
