Postsecondary Service

The Office of Postsecondary Services formulates policy interpretation and guidance regulations for educational institutions throughout Michigan. It provides audit resolution, technical assistance, and grant administration and oversight solutions for universities, proprietary schools, licensed learning establishments, and community and independent colleges. The office coordinates the Educational Corporations and Veterans programs. It is additionally responsible for the establishment and approval of nonpublic institutions, including degree-granting postsecondary institutes, elementary and secondary schools, and private colleges and universities. The office evaluates educational and technical programs for veterans and their dependents under the federal veteran s education benefit programs. The Office of Postsecondary Services is a part of the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor and Economic Growth, which also operates workforce development, corporation, enforcement and licensing divisions.
