Perry is a city in Shiawassee County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 2,065 at the 2000 census. The city is located within Perry Township and has both Perry High School and Middle School. It is also hometown to The People's Temple (band).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.9 square miles (7.5 km²), of which, 2.8 square miles (7.4 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.2 km²) of it (2.06%) is water.
The City and adjoining Perry Township, Michigan are named for American naval hero Oliver Hazard Perry.
