Owosso Downtown Development
The Owosso Downtown Development Authority (DDA) was established in 1977 to combat physical and economic decline in downtown Owosso, Michigan. Comprising a nine-member board, the DDA collects revenue through a tax levy and a tax increment financing district to fund various improvements and initiatives in the area.
In 2009, the Owosso Main Street program was introduced to further enhance business development and community activity downtown. This program operates under the DDA and focuses on economic restructuring, design, promotions, and organization, while also engaging in infrastructure and event planning to revitalize the downtown area.
