Owasippe Scout Reservation has been serving the scouts of the Chicago Area Council since 1911. The troop makes a two week trek north to Whitehall, Michigan each year, and summer camp offers scouts the chance to work on outdoor merit badges and advance through the early ranks. There are a variety of activities for the scouts to participate in, both individually and as a troop, including open boating and canoeing on Lake Wolverine, crafts and woodworking and knot tying seminars. Owasippe Scout Reservation is in Twin Lake, Mich.

YMCA Camp Pendalouan

Operational for more than 80 years, the YMCA Camp Pendalouan offers a range of recreational opportunities for children, youths and adults. The camp organizes several day camps for children between the ages of 6 and 12. The YMCA Camp Pendalouan organizes arts and crafts, swimming, canoeing and climbing sessions. It also conducts leadership and father-son camps. The camp provides sailing, fishing and horseback riding opportunities. The YMCA Camp Pendalouan additionally offers transportation and counseling services. The camp conducts overnight camps for children between the ages of 6 and 15. The YMCA Camp Pendalouan maintains a more than 150-acre educational center. It is accredited by the American Camp Association.
