Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, founded in 1968 and located in Detroit, has a large collection of art pieces and sculptures. It has a glass dome that is more than 100 feet in diameter and over 55 feet high. The museum also has facilities and theaters, including genealogy by Hubert Massey of Ford Freedom Rotunda, Louise Lovett Wright Research Library and General Motors Theater. Its theater is more than 300-seat facility that hosts live performances, film screenings, lectures and presentations. The museum store provides authentic African-American art, books and merchandise. It is a museum and educational center that provides studies of the arts and culture of African-American groups. The museum organizes various exhibitions, such as the Art of Architecture in Africa, Unmasked Stereotypes in American Material Culture and Peace Stools. The museum also offers sandwiches, fruits and cold beverages through vending machines.
