MRS O'S Preschool

PCCN is a cooperative preschool where the teacher, the parents and the children all work together. Our school is not based on the philosophy of having all children attain a certain level of academic achievement, but rather the consistent nurturing of each individual child to fulfill his/her own particular social, physical, emotional and academic capabilities. As a cooperative preschool, the parents are required to work a certain number of days throughout the year to assist the teacher as needed. On working days parents fulfill classroom responsibilities, follow daily clean-up schedule, and most importantly help our children learn. Parents are required to attend the field trips and the parent meetings held throughout the year. Also, parents will be required to contribute at least one day during the year to be part of a routine monthly clean-up in the classroom. Our cooperative preschool offers parents the opportunity to observe their children in a unique, fun-loving, educational environment and to participate in their learning experience.

Kalamazoo Nature Center (KNC) is a non-profit nature preserve dedicated to fostering connections between people and the natural world through diverse programs and experiences. With 15 miles of trails, engaging exhibits, and opportunities for all ages, KNC inspires visitors to value and care for the environment. The center offers various educational programs, community events, and art fairs, promoting ecological awareness and conservation efforts. Through initiatives like the Butterfly Hikes and Moonlight Migration Walks, KNC encourages exploration and appreciation of nature while fostering a sense of community among participants.
