Michigan Mineralogical Society
The Michigan Mineralogical Society, established in 1935, is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to advancing the interests of mineral, fossil, and gem collecting, as well as geology and earth science education in Michigan. As the oldest society in the Midwest Federation of Mineralogical and Geological Societies, it promotes inclusivity, welcoming individuals at all levels of interest in earth sciences.
Monthly meetings are held from September through May at the Cranbrook Institute of Science, where members and guests can explore mineral hall exhibits and participate in educational programs. The society also collaborates with educational institutions to provide scholarships and enhance public engagement in mineralogy and paleontology through exhibits and outreach activities.
