Founded in 1904, American Concrete Institute is aims to increase concrete knowledge by conducting seminars, certification programs and publishing technical documents. The institute has nearly 15,000 members in more than 80 countries. It has produced more than 400 technical documents, reports, guides, specifications and codes for the best use of concrete and also conducts educational seminars each year. To be considered for membership in the Michigan Chapter and the National Electrical Contractors Association persons, firms or corporations must be principally engaged in the business of electrical contracting and maintain a permanently established office within the jurisdiction, in terms of geographical territory, of the Chapter. The National Electrical Installation Standards go beyond the basic safety requirements of the National Electrical Code and are approved by the American National Standards Institute ( ANSI ). Through the Electrical Contracting Foundation, established in 1988 by the NECA Board of Governors, NECA has made a commitment to serve as the guiding force in preparing the electrical contracting industry for the challenges of the 21st century.
