The Lucas County Department of Job & Family Services, also known as LCDJFS, provides temporary subsidized child care, adult protection, and disability assistance and prevention services. The department offers a variety of job placement services, such as resume writing and interview and GED preparation. Located in Toledo, Ohio, it provides dental and nursing assistance training sessions, as well as pre -apprenticeships programs. The Lucas County Department of Job & Family Services also offers transportation services for medical appointments and other personal tasks. Its workshop adults with developmental disabilities who complete assembly work, such as sorting, packaging, assembly, disassembly, confidential document destruction and button manufacturing. Its early intervention program is for children up to 3 years of age with developmental delay. The program offers services, such as occupational and physical therapies, community education, music, behavioral support, service coordination, adaptive physical education, nursing, vocational training and job development. It also provides life and estate planning on the Web site. It collects and maintains a record of information about individuals in the organization. Its staff includes teachers, habilitation specialists, job coaches and occupational therapists. Its transportation vehicles are approved by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
