Bob McLain started working on bikes during a high school work study program in the 9th grade at the only bike shop in Traverse City. He continued there through high school and took classes in college that he felt necessary to start his own business and opened McLains to bring his knowledge and passion to the under-served cycling public. Be careful what you buy from this place - they don't offer service on their treadmills. They suggested a former employee to service our machine and he totally messed it up.

Very good service and we love our 559's we bought there. The prices are fair and they are very knowledgeable. It's worth the drive!
