Established in 1999, Lapeer Medical Associates started out of a necessity to provide better personal care for the patients in our community. Four physicians from Lapeer made a calculated decision to break free from the grip of the large hospital to open up a private practice. Being private gives us the ability to put patients' healthcare first, not be market driven, and provide comprehensive healthcare and do the most for patients in house as a patient centered medical home. From humble beginnings Family Practitioners Timothy Piontkowski D.O., Albert Smith, Jr D.O., And Pediatrician Mark Braniecki D.O., started in a small shared office with bare essentials. We bided our time in Oxford due to a 2 year contractual obligation that kept us from directly working in our community. In 2001, Curt Coulter D.O. joined the group and the family practice began to operate in Lapeer. We developed a medical building in relationship with Genesys PHO and then later in 2013 added a 5000 sq foot addition. We have continued to grow the practice and now have five Physicians and three supervised Nurse Practitioners practicing in the clinic. For 22 years we have tirelessly worked to develop our current practice and adapt over the years with the ever changing face of medicine.
