Lloyd-Flanders Industries

Lloyd/Flanders was founded by Marshall B. Lloyd, a manufacturer of fine handwoven wicker furniture and baby buggies in Menominee, Mich. In 1917, Lloyd patented a process for the manufacture of wicker fabric, which was woven from a twisted fiber made of kraft paper. The manufacturing process of woven wicker marked the beginning of mass production of innovative furniture, Lloyd loom. Between 1920 to 1940, Lloyd produced various furniture designs from large settees to small wastepaper baskets to serve residential homes as well as commercial properties. Lloyd/Flanders has since adapted various designs for presentations in current wicker collections. The original designs of Lloyd loom wicker fabric have been utilized for a range of traditional and contemporary indoor and outdoor settings. Lloyd loom products have featured at Buckingham Palace, the U.S. Open, Wimbledon, London Northeast Railway and other places around the world.
