WELCOME TO OAKWOOD ANIMAL HOSPITAL Located in the Oakwood neighborhood of Kalamazoo, Oakwood Animal Hospital has been providing quality, compassionate veterinary care for nearly 30 years. We offer a full range of medical services for dogs and cats, including preventive health care, disease treatment, dentistry, and surgical services. Our preventive services include vaccinations, spay/neuter services, microchipping, and parasite prevention. We also offer several options to control fleas and ticks. We have multiple doctors on staff. Drs. Jonathan Barkow, Dawn Martinez, Andrea Walker and Allyson Barchett see our daily appointments and share dental and surgery duties.While they wear many hats, each doctor has his or her own special areas of interest. Dr. Martinez is partial to involved internal medicine cases that require a lot of detective work. Dr. Walker loves ophthalmology, and internal medicine. Dr. Barkow enjoys surgery, and performs more involved procedures such as cranial cruciate ligament repairs, patellar luxation corrections, and some limited fracture repairs. Dr. Barchett enjoys preventive medicine and cardiology. Our fully equipped hospital includes surgical monitoring equipment, in-house bloodwork analyzers, full body and dental radiography (x-ray), and ultrasound. We also have professional relationships with veterinary specialists in case your pet needs a referral for advanced care. Our goal is to provide high quality veterinary services that are convenient for our clients.
