The Ingham Intermediate School District is a regional educational service agency that has been in operation since 1962. It offers various programs for children in prekindergarten through grade five who are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders. The school district s Secondary Learning Center is a special education program for students in grades eight through 12 with severe emotional and behavioral problems. It also operates an early childhood readiness program. Additionally, the district offers a therapeutic preschool program that is operated cooperatively by Capital Area Community Services Head Start and the district. The school district offers a range of early intervention services, including developmental assessments, individual family service planning, home visits and therapy, playgroups, and parent education and support.
