The Balanced Meal in a Crust! A pasty (pron.: pass Tee), is a baked pastry. It is made by placing uncooked filling typically of meat and vegetables, without meat in vegetarian versions, on a flat pastry circle and folding it to wrap the filling, crimping the edge to form a seal. Pasties are then baked to a golden brown. Pasties from Mackinaw Pastie are sealed with our unique folding method.

Well this was a fun place. Each of us were served hot pasies and gravy. Not a fancy place but I'd give up fancy anyday for real food and this is real food. Staff was friendly and food was served...

We decided to try PASTEE's.. not sure if the traditional food is just not good or it was not good here. Just eat Shepherds pie, stew, maybe a calzone and you will get the picture and some taste...

Best pastie in upper peninsula. I had breakfast pastie. I tried few more places in UP and this place was the best.

I've lived in Michigan since 1994 and have visited Mackinaw City many, many times but never had a pastie. Boy what a mistake, we ordered the traditional beef pastie with the gravy on the side....
