HealthPlus of Michigan is a licensed nonprofit health maintenance organization providing health care coverage to more than 190,000 members in over 10 mid-Michigan counties from Oakland County north through Bay County in the state. It offers a wide variety of plans, including HealthPlus HMO that offers health coverage at a fixed monthly premium, providing preventive services, including checkups, immunizations, mammograms, cholesterol screenings and worldwide coverage for emergencies. It also provides HealthPlus POS, a point-of-service plan that offers members freedom to choose any doctor, specialist, hospital and medical facility. The organization s HealthPlus Options is a wholly owned subsidiary of HealthPlus of Michigan, which provides benefits and coverage for many companies. Its HealthPlus AdvantagePlans encourage and provides preventive health care services and include programs, such as health risk appraisals, tobacco cessation and weight reduction.
