The West Midland Family Center offers a range of social interaction and recreational services. The center provides family support, transportation and home visitation services. The West Midland Family Center offers counseling services for individuals, families, couples, adolescents, adults and senior citizens. The center features a lobby, dining room, basketball court, pool and gymnasiums. The West Midland Family Center also maintains a food pantry, locker room and back field. The center is also available on a rental basis for various community events. The West Midland Family Center provides an after-school program that organizes arts and crafts sessions for students in grades two through five. The center features a family resource room that stocks books and toys, as well as information materials in subjects related to divorce, fatherhood and career. The Association for Child Development is a nonprofit organization that educates parents and caregivers on nutrition to promote the development of children and establish healthy eating habits. The association is the largest sponsor of the Child and Adult Care Food Program in the United States, sponsoring child care providers in the states of Michigan and Illinois. The firm organizes various child-centered nutrition and physical activity programs. It publishes subscription-based monthly children's health and nutrition newsletter, Potpourri, which provides children s health articles, child-specific nutrition information, recipes and fun activities for kids. The United Methodist Community House has been offering a variety of services to children, youths, families and senior citizens since 1902. It administers several programs through its child, youth, family and senior development departments. The organization s child development center provides a research-based curriculum for the early childhood development of children up to 5 years. It also operates a before- and after-school center that involves students in a homework club, tutoring, mentoring, sports, arts and crafts, dance and other recreational activities. The organization provides assistance with transportation, advocacy, referrals and tax preparation, as well as conducts health screenings and field trips. It family development center offers adult education and English as a Second Language classes. The United Methodist Community House is located in Grand Rapids, Mich.
