Detroit Area Agency on Aging is a social service and welfare organization. It serves Detroit, Grosse Pointes, Hamtramck, Harper Woods and Highland Park in Michigan. It provides a wide range of services and programs for elder citizens, including Detroit meals-on-wheels, grandparents raising grandchildren and empowerment zone programs; information and assistance, and housing services. Its care management program provides various services, including assessments, care plan development, service arrangements, follow-up, monitoring and reassessments. Its waiver program provides respite services, such as adult day care, environmental modifications, transportation, medical supplies and equipment. Additionally, it offers other services, including chore, emergency response system, private duty nursing, counseling, home delivered meals, independent living skills training and personal care services.
