Founded by Avery and Evelyn Paxson, the company began with a gas station in Freeland and expanded its operations throughout the region, adding multiple locations over the decades.
In 1985, Paxson Oil Company transitioned from a service station to a convenience store model, and by 2007, they introduced Fast Pax Auto Bath, a comprehensive car wash facility. Today, Fast Pax Food Stores continues to serve communities in Birch Run, Bay City, Mackinaw Road, Saginaw, Freeland, Chesaning, Essexville, and St. Charles.
