Emu Bright Futures

Eastern Michigan University Bright Futures is a 21st Century Community Learning Centers program that collaborates with economically challenged suburban school districts to provide academic support and enrichment opportunities for students and families. With a focus on math, reading, writing, health, and social-emotional growth, the program offers after-school and summer programs that include homework help, mentoring, project-based learning, and a variety of clubs and activities tailored to student interests.

Operating in 14 schools in the Wayne-Westland Community School District, eight sites in the Ypsilanti Community Schools, and three sites in Romulus Community Schools, Eastern Michigan University Bright Futures aims to support students' successful transition from elementary to middle school, from middle to high school, and to post-secondary programs. All elementary, middle, and high school sites are licensed by the State of Michigan to provide child care, ensuring a safe and secure environment for students.
