Emerson Schools

Emerson Middle School is an independent school for gifted and academically talented students in grades six through eight. The school s core curriculum includes technology, science, mathematics, language arts, social studies, and performing and fine arts. Its foreign language department conducts classes in Japanese, Spanish, French and Latin. Emerson Middle School offers various sports activities, such as basketball, volleyball, soccer and lacrosse. The school is a part of Emerson School, which also operates a lower school. The parent school encourages creativity and problem solving skills in students in kindergarten through grade eight. Its library collection includes approximately 13,000 books. Emerson School s elective courses include band, orchestra, drama, chorus, drawing, journalism, sewing, photography and gardening.
