The Elberta Dunes South Natural Area, also known as EDNA, is the latest park addition to the Village of Elberta, Michigan. Rising 225 feet above Lake Michigan, this natural area offers hikers stunning panoramic views of the Betsie River Wildlife Refuge and the Lake Michigan shoreline.
Managed by the Elberta Parks and Recreation Commission in collaboration with the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy, EDNA features a moderately difficult hiking trail. Visitors are encouraged to stay on marked paths to protect the delicate ecosystem, including dune erosion and poison ivy hazards.
