Evolution of FCI AutomationThose of you possesing a historical sense of the West Michigan industrial community may recall a company known as Fluid Connections Inc. (FCI )This Grand Rapids based Fluid Power Distributor began in 1976 as the first hose and connector specialist distributor in West Michigan. Our inital mission focused on providing hose and connector expertise along with the industry's leading product lines. In 2001, we became the first independent Fluid Power Distributor in the area to become ISO 9000 certified.Total Automation SolutionsAnother milestone occurred in 2001. We became the exclusive distributor for FESTO-USA in West Michigan. This event caught the attention of other world class manufactures and sparked the interest of automation visionaries. With the decsion to expand our scope to reflect our new capabilities, we changed our name to FCI Automation.In 2004 we moved into our current facility with dedicated work centers for automation sub-assemblies, OEM hose production, pneumatic build and test, and kit packaging.
