The Detroit People's Food Co-op is a Black-led, community-owned grocery cooperative dedicated to improving access to healthy food and food education for residents of Detroit. Driven by its member-owners, the co-op aims to meet the needs of the community through democratic control and participation.
With a mission to bring fresh and healthy food options to the city, the co-op fosters a sense of community and encourages local involvement. Membership is open to all, and the co-op actively seeks to engage volunteers who share its vision of food equity and justice.
