Great stop along I94. short 15 min drive south at the Sturgis exit. The self guided tour is good, but do the animal encounter! We had Paige help us with the large alligator- she was very well...

Critchlow Alligator Sanctuary is a reptile rescue facility that is open to the public. We are home to hundreds of reptiles who have come to us through adoption, donation, rescue, or from other institutions. We have worked with local and state authorities with animal control needs and we also work with schools and universities with educational programs and internships. No animals are bought, sold, or traded at the Alligator Sanctuary. We provide a comfortable home and care for these animals for the rest of their lives.

Wild. Unique. Informative. Crazy. I love it! I have been here twice and both times it blew my mind. There is no other place like this. Kind of a wild, unconventional setup. Hundreds of alligators....

Great experience spending time here with friends. We had Cynthia as our tour guide, and she was a wealth of information. Learned a lot about alligators, crocs, caimans & more.

If you go at the beginning of Summer or the end of Fall, you can transport an alligator. It was so fun!

It's amazing that we can get such a great Alligator experience here in Athens, MI. I love how well they treat their rescue gators and how much they do to educate the community
