Cranbrook Educational Community, founded in 1904, operates independent college preparatory schools, art and history museums, and Cranbrook academy of art and institute of science. It also provides two-year graduate degree programs in art, astronomy, physics, chemistry, architecture and design, and humanities. Its arts and crafts museum offers a variety of American history exhibits and artifacts, and organizes guest lectures and seminars on historical issues. It has a campus area of more than 400 acres that include botanical gardens, sculptures, fountains and architectural monuments. The community also operates a science museum that includes a theater and projector, scientific exhibits and classrooms, observation decks, art galleries, and exhibit halls. Cranbrook Educational Community located in Bloomfield Hills, Mich.
