With an office in Charlotte, Mich., the Barry-Eaton District Health Department maintains an office of emergency preparedness that supports the citizens of Barry and Eaton Counties, Mich. The office provides information concerning community and individual planning and preparedness, including biological and chemical agents and diseases, radiation emergencies and natural disasters. The department supports a substance abuse programs that promotes and provides various community-based programs to improve the quality of life for the members of the community who are affected by problems related to substance abuse. The Barry-Eaton District Health Department maintains an adult and senior services division that provides services regarding sexually transmitted diseases, immunizations, tuberculosis, family planning, pregnancy testing, and breast and cervical cancer. It also maintains environmental health and infant and child service divisions.
