History

We began with the ideas of providing knitters, crocheters and other fiber folk with highest quality yarn, tools and instruction. This means providing value in everything we do and is still the guiding principal of Artisan Knitworks. It's the good stuff ... regardless of the price. We have a particular focus on handcrafted Michigan and American made fibers. We also have fibers from quality mills and fiber artists in Italy, Japan, Canada, and South America among others. We never, ever knowingly sell yarn that is from any mill that isn't fair to its employees and to the environment. Fiber training and education are also important to us. Our objective is to develop each individual's skills so they can be the best knitter or crocheter they can be. We offer skill-based classes by our own, highly-qualified staff and from internationally known experts. That's what we're about. It's that simple.
