Tenacity is a nonprofit organization that has been operational since 1999. It organizes fitness classes and after-school care programs. The organization has a staff of trained and certified consultants, event managers and directors, academic and human relations coordinators, program assistants and volunteers. Tenacity conducts the After-School Excellence Program for middle school students. Its alumni service staff assists participants with high school requirements, college and financial aid applications, job searches, and personal and professional development issues. D.E.A.F. provides independent living services and programs. The organization is founded by Deaf leaders from the National Association of the deaf and the Massachusetts State Association of the Deaf. It has been serving the Boston Metropolitan community since 1977. D.E.A.F. offers information and referrals for advocacy, skills training, peer counseling and technical assistance. The organization s Deafblind Community Access Network, established in 2001, conducts community, educational, recreational, religious and cultural events. The organization receives funds from the United Way of Massachusetts Bay. It additionally provides continuous education classes for the deaf and hard of hearing community in a variety of subjects. D.E.A.F maintains its corporate headquarters in Allston, Mass.

River Valley Charter School is a regional public Montessori school that provides educational services to more than 250 students in kindergarten through grade eight. The school conducts academic classes in the areas of language arts, math, science, humanities, art, music, reading, and health and physical education. River Valley Charter School also offers speech therapy and special education classes. Its staff includes special education professionals and a school nurse, as well as specialists in art, music and other areas.
