Wessagussett Yacht Club

New Bedford Yacht Club was incorporated by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for supporting athletic activities and yachting. It is a nonprofit organization that serves yachting enthusiasts of all ages through boating and recreational activities. The club also serves as a meeting place for its members and guests and has more than 500 members. It offers various waterfront and boating activities, such as sailing, cruising, racing, rowing and fishing. Additionally, it organizes educational sailboat racing programs for encouraging yachting in communities. It hosts various boating races, such as the Rhodes 19 East Coast Championship and the Annual Buzzards Bay Regatta. The club additionally organizes dinner dances and informal family gatherings, and hosts private functions in its clubhouse. New Bedford Yacht Club is located in South Dartmouth, Mass., and was established in 1877.
