UNI is a lively, contemporary izakaya located in The Eliot Hotel on Commonwealth Avenue. Helmed by Chef-Partners, Ken Oringer and Tony Messina, the menu highlights global street food-inspired small plates, innovative makimono, nigiri and sashimi, alongside craft cocktails and a wide-ranging sake program. I came on a Sunday night. I ordered the tasting menu and some other items, like Brussels sprouts, crab rice, grilled octopus etc. My bill was 400+ for 3 people. The food is very "fused" together....

Tasting menu was not good value. First 4 courses of sashimi were minuscule (unlike the ala carte sashimi courses, which are perhaps the best items on the menu). Carrot course seemed rudimentary...
