He started the business by purchasing a new FCB machine and installing it at a customer location in Faneuil Hall in Boston, MA. The customer agreed to take the machine for free, but be required to purchase FCB syrup, cups, lids, and straws from Liquid Ice. Jodi Del Re, a marketing professional, and Al's wife, volunteered to do the bookkeeping. The couple cleared out the family garage to store parts and supplies. They bought a $1, 500 Jeep Cherokee SUV at a used car lot so they could make deliveries on nights and weekends. 1999: By the end of its first year, Liquid Ice recruited a total of 9 customers, selling Frozen Coca-Cola Classic, and Frozen Minute Maid Cherry. 2001: Liquid Ice adds Blue Raspberry Frost to its flavor line-up.
