BSS Design, Inc was established in 1987 by Thomas Bunker and associates. Since then we have evolved to a primary focus on Civil Engineering and Land Surveying services, with attention to the aesthetic ramifications of our designs. With over 20 years in business, BSS Design looks forward to a bright future. As Civil Engineers and Land Surveyors, we are fully registered and insured with Professional and General Liability Insurance. Tom Bunker grew up in West Falmouth and is a Registered Professional Land Surveyor (lic.32653) in Massachusetts. He holds a Master of Landscape Architecture degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry Engineering from the University of Maine at Orono. His experience in surveying and drafting goes back to 1977 with T squares and slide rules. Since then, he has harnessed all the modern technology to keep BSS Design thriving in the 21st century. He oversees the survey staff and adds his Forestry and Landscape Architecture background to site plans being reviewed by town departments and other agencies. West Falmouth native Jeff Ryther is a Registered Civil Engineer (lic.33489) and Soil Evaluator in Massachusetts. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Central Florida. Mr. Ryther is experienced in the design and permitting of roads and parking facilities, drainage and grading, sewer, septic and water systems. Using his knowledge of local waters, he is involved in the design of piers, docks, seawalls, and soft engineering solutions to control erosion. Jeff also has extensive experience in preparing technical specifications and contract documents. BSS Design Team Our expert staff includes Dean Brown, Survey Crew Chief, Eric Peterson, Survey Technician, Ray Rowitz, Engineering Technician and Pamela Mattson, Office Manager as well as other project associates. These professionals bring years of dedication and experience to BSS Design Team.
