SELCO, also known as Shrewsbury Electric and Cable Operations, is a community-owned and operated company founded in 1983. It offers a range of electric, cable and Internet services to residential and commercial customers. Located in Shrewsbury, Mass., SELCO operates the town's cable television system and installs and maintains power supply. It offers various programs, including EZPay, an online payment program and the GreenLight program, which allows customers to purchase renewable energy from SELCO for an additional cost. The company also operates a bulletin board channel, which is available for use by civic, town, school, social, religious and nonprofit groups to promote events, activities and meeting notices of community interest. In addition, SELCO funds and maintains the official Web site of the town of Shrewsbury.
