Putnam Vocational Tech High School

SPS Central High School, based in Springfield, Mass., offers educational services to students in grades nine through 12. The school offers classes in a wide range of subjects, including engineering, graphic arts, foreign languages, English, math, health, physical science and world history. It also offers classes in a variety of other academic areas, such as life skills, Chinese, German, Spanish, Italian, French, physics, biology, sculpture and ceramics. SPS Central High School provides a range of clubs and activities for students, including robotics, drama, fashion design club, basketball tutorial, child studies club, computer repair club and National Honor Society. Its range of sporting activities includes football, soccer, cross country, golf, volleyball, field hockey, wrestling, swimming and basketball.

Founded in 1973, Hawthorne Valley School includes early childhood, lower and high schools. Located in Ghent, N.Y., the school s academic curriculum includes English, mathematics, history and natural sciences. It also offers classes in biology, geometry, geology, physics, chemistry, drama, world geography and economics. The school s additional courses include drawing, woodwork, spinning, metalwork, calligraphy, painting, sculpture, technology and weaving. It has an athletics department that offers various sports activities, including basketball, volleyball, cross country, baseball and softball. The school also provides several extracurricular activities, such as a yearbook, social literary magazine, photography club and instrumental music lessons. It is a part of Hawthorne Valley School, which is a branch of the Hawthorne Valley Association.
