Located in America’s most valuable fishing port, New Bedford Fishing Heritage Center is dedicated to preserving and presenting the story of the fishing industry past, present & future through exhibits, programs, & archives. FHC features a replica working deck, scallop dredge, galley table, bunks, historic and contemporary images & footage, and more than sixty audio clips sharing the many voices of the fishing community. Outside of our exhibits, the Fishing Heritage Center is much more than a museum — we're your expert guides to the famous Port of New Bedford. Walk the Working Waterfront: Experience New Bedford's iconic & historic working waterfront, led by seasoned insiders with deep roots in the fishing community: Dockside Vessel Tours: visit a working vessel, talk with crew, see how the gear operates, and get a sense of shipboard life. Boat-to-Table Presentations: hear from a commercial fisherman & FHC experts about the local seafood industry and all its inner workings.
