The Arlington Police Department, established in 1853, enforces laws and protects lives and property and guards individual rights and community values. It offers a range of citizens services that includes firearms permits and release, crime investigations, accident reports, alarm permits and auto release. The Arlington Police Department supports and conducts various community policing initiatives and neighborhood watch programs, as well as maintains a community affairs division. The department undertakes cases related to domestic violence, identity theft, traffic and parking law enforcement, crime reporting and emergency management. The Arlington Police Department, located in Arlington, Mass., also provides patrol and search and rescue services for missing persons.

The Bedford Police Department provides community policing services to the town of Bedford. It has more than 25 sworn officers, over 10 communications officers, a school crossing officer and nearly 20 traffic officers on its staff. The department offers law enforcement services and a variety of traffic safety and crime prevention programs. Its traffic division handles cases of aggressive and drunk driving. The Bedford Police Department provides special services against domestic violence that include verbal abuse, threats, and physical and sexual abuse.
