Mary Ann McDonnell, RN, MS, CS, PMHNP, is licensed as a child and adolescent clinical nurse specialist and a family psychiatric nurse practitioner and has a PhD in Philosophy. She obtained her Associates of Science in Nursing Degree at Quincy College, her Bachelors of Science in Nursing Degree, Masters of Science in Nursing Degree, and her PhD in Philosophy at Northeastern University in Boston. Step One Early Intervention is a program operated by South Shore Mental Health. The program evaluates and serves infants and children with various developmental disabilities. It administers a range of toddler and parent-children groups. The program helps parents to recognize and understand their child's developmental needs. Step One Early Intervention serves children suffering from feeding, vision and hearing problems. It also serves children suffering from family problems, such as homelessness, substance abuse and family violence. The program conducts a variety of physical, occupational, music and speech therapy sessions. Step One Early Intervention maintains learning centers and its services are also available at child care centers.
