Yarmouth Police Department s mission statement is to prevent and suppress criminal activity through improved identification, apprehension and prosecution of offenders and the elimination or reduction of opportunities to commit crime. The department operates through units, such as the bicycle patrol unit, K-9 unit, Patrol unit, detective division and ceremonial unit. Patrol division is responsible for police patrol throughout the town of Yarmouth, Mass. It is the largest unit within the Yarmouth Police Department. The patrol division operates around the clock and performs a variety of functions, such as proactive police patrol, enforcement of law, traffic control and enforcement, crash investigation, homeland security and investigation of criminal complaints. Yarmouth Police Department is located in West Yarmouth, Mass.

The Plymouth Fire Department provides fire suppression and rescue services to the city of Plymouth, Mass. The department offers mitigation of and recovery from a variety of conditions that adversely threaten the safety of the public. The department s primary operations consist of the confining and extinguishing of various types of fires. As an extension of the department s rescue services, it also provides pre-hospital, emergency medical care. In addition, it controls spills and incidents involving hazardous materials and participates in campaigns for community awareness regarding fire safety. The Dalton Fire Department operates more than five stations that are located throughout the city.
