Fort

The Student Prince Caf was opened September of 1935 by Paul Schoeder and Erna Sievers. It was named after Sigmund Romberg's light-hearted operetta of Heidelberg student life, The Student Prince. Most of the woodwork in the bar area is original despite generations of gemutlichkeit. Nearly 20 steins adorned the bar when it opened, and the collection has grown to one of the largest in the United States. The Student Prince Caf is located in Springfield, Mass., where it employs nearly 80 people.
