This beach in Cape Cod Bay offers two fantastic experiences, depending on the tide. At low tide, walk on the sandbar and spot crabs, clams, and tiny fish. Kids will love playing in the tidal pools. At high tide, lounge on the shore and go for a swim in the calm waters. High tide is typically when the whole area gets busier. Look out toward the Herring River estuary, and don’t miss the stunning sunset on the beach. Make sure you pack some snacks, as a portable toilet is the only public facility in the area. – Tripadvisor

Sweet spot to visit on the cape. Can be very busy and full during peak season but gentle enough for the little ones to play in the water without too much worry. We enjoy walking out at low tide,...

This is my favorite bayside beach on the outer cape. They have a good amount of parking but on a sunny warm day the spots fill up very fast. At high tide it may seem like a small beach area but at...

First Encounter Beach is, by far, the best beach in the outer cape. To get there, you just turn left at the Windmill off of 6A. Don't worry about missing it - it's the only windmill in Eastham....
