General Insulation Company, founded in 1927, distributes commercial and industrial insulations, heating, ventilation and air conditioning products, fire protection products, gaskets, tapes and accessories for mechanical contractor and plumbing supply houses. It has more than 20 branches throughout the United States. The company has facilities that fabricate foam glass, mineral wool, urethane, polystyrene and materials used by contractors and original equipment manufacturers. The majority of General Insulation Company s products are used for insulation of pipes and ducts, and fireproofing of industrial and commercial buildings. It purchases insulation, fireproofing and accessories from manufacturers, such as Knauf Insulation, 3M, Rubatex/Nomaco, Venture Tape, ITW Insulation Systems, Owens Corning and Johns Manville.
