Capuano Field
Capuano Field is a 0.36-acre park located on the Somerville-Cambridge border, serving as a memorial to the firefighters Joseph Reilly and Robert Brickley who tragically lost their lives in the 1974 Arrow Paper fire. The park offers a serene environment with benches, plantings, and a memorial featuring bronze firefighting equipment, while future plans aim to develop an Off-Leash Recreational Area for pets.
In addition to Capuano Field, Somerville boasts various parks, such as the Allen Street Community Garden and the Somerville Community Growing Center, each enriched by community efforts and dedicated to enhancing local green spaces. These areas provide residents and visitors alike with opportunities for recreational activities, gardening, and engaging with nature in a welcoming atmosphere.
