Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates is a nonprofit multispecialty medical group practice, headquartered in Boston and with more than 10 locations in and around Greater Boston. Established in 1997, it is also a major teaching affiliate of the Harvard Medical School and many of its physicians are involved in teaching the Harvard Medical School students and residents. It employs a team approach to health care and offers a wide array of physicians and other health care professionals. The patient s primary care physician works with a team of nurse practitioners, physician assistants and others, to handle regular checkups, coordinate specialty care and look after overall health. It offers more than 35 medical and surgical specialties, including audiology, behavioral health, cardiology, pediatrics, dermatology, endocrinology, orthopedics, genetics, podiatry, pulmonology, maxillofacial surgery and rheumatology and gastroenterology. Its other specialties are hematology, oncology, infectious diseases, internal medicine, nephrology, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmology and urology.

Step One Early Intervention is a program operated by South Shore Mental Health. The program evaluates and serves infants and children with various developmental disabilities. It administers a range of toddler and parent-children groups. The program helps parents to recognize and understand their child's developmental needs. Step One Early Intervention serves children suffering from feeding, vision and hearing problems. It also serves children suffering from family problems, such as homelessness, substance abuse and family violence. The program conducts a variety of physical, occupational, music and speech therapy sessions. Step One Early Intervention maintains learning centers and its services are also available at child care centers.
