Farmington Valley Visiting Nurse Association, located in Simsbury, Conn., has been offering health care services throughout the state since 1908. It is a nonprofit, Medicare-certified and state licensed home health agency. The home health programs offer skilled nursing, medical social workers, homemakers and housekeepers. It provides laundry, grocery shopping and meal preparation services. The center also offers certified home health aides and assistance with bathing, dressing, prescribed exercises, feeding and personal care as instructed by registered nurses and therapists. The organization has licensed medical social workers for providing supportive counseling to patients and families coping with illnesses. It also provides physical, occupational and language therapy programs to people suffering from disabilities. It is approved by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organization.
