Dining Room: The dining room is large and sunny with tall windows overlooking the children’s playground, orchards and wooded areas. The focal point of the dining room is a large Rumford fireplace, creating a warm and inviting venue, particularly on a snowy New England evening. Apartments Services Facilities Amenities Grounds Meals are served restaurant-style and are cooked to order when placed. Home-made soup and variety of salads are offered daily, along with such appetizers as jumbo shrimp cocktail or Asian spring rolls. The dinner menu includes two new entrees daily, and in addition, a full alternative menu, allowing for ample choices 365 days a year. The Food Service Director will work with the residents to re-create a favorite recipe that they may have made for their family, affording all residents the opportunity to try their friends; favorites sparking a lively conversation; and competition. Library: The Edwardian decor of the library evokes an atmosphere of a gracious time gone by. There are stuffed wing back arm chairs to curl up in and windows to gaze out at the natural outside grounds. It is a serene place to enjoy a good read! Orchard Hill library is stocked with a variety of books for reading pleasure and can be read in the library or taken out, consisting of classics, recent favorites, Orchard Hill Book Club collection, as well as large print books. A selection of newspapers is delivered daily to the library for the enjoyment of all the residents. Parlor: The parlor is one of Orchard Hills, sunlit rooms and is decorated in French country style. The centerpiece is a large grand piano, for residents use or for one of Orchard Hill scheduled trained entertainers. Our entertainers are trained in a variety of genres from jazz to classical, as well as well-known favorites as chosen by our residents. The parlor is one of the favorite visitation rooms for residents and family members as well as for games and lively discussion. Wellness Office: Orchard Hill Wellness Office is staffed with a full time Resident Care Director. Residents have access to blood pressure.
